Rustic Hemlock - Sale
|
Below is listed some rustic hemlock barn planking rescued by my Amish friend, Roman, from a barn built in the 1870's in Westford, PA. These boards have everything you would expect from lumber that was nailed inside a barn for over 140 years. Knots, splits, nail holes, and also worm holes. Own a piece of American history. The hemlock was used as the exterior siding. They have heavy, deep grain lines that can only be achieved when weathered for over 100 years. Roman has 9 kids. He likes to say they are spaced every 9 months, 15 minutes. He needs the money, so every dime goes back to him.

Front: I am selling these for my Amish friend, Roman. You may know him as the guy that mills out my lumber. He just had his 9th kid (7boys), so all of the money will go directly to him. I would say he needs it. These boards are taken off a barn that was built in Westford Pennsylvania in the year 1877. We are pretty sure these boards are hemlock. They all have DEEP grain lines and all are dark grey. Kinda what you would look like if you were hung on a barn for 134 years! All the nails have been removed. It took 134 years of brutal winters, and scorching summers to make these boards. Buy a piece of American history. Roman also has a little more of these too. He also has some giant white oak sleepers taken from the same barn. These would cut up into some one-of-a-kind flooring. I can put him in contact with you if you are interested in the beams.

These boards have everything you would expect from lumber that was nailed inside a barn for over 140 years. Knots, splits, nail holes, and also worm holes. The worm holes actually add value as wormy chestnut sell at a premium, if you can find it. Own a piece of American history. Chestnut is now extinct. All that is left is salvaged lumber like this.
