Front: Nice matched set. All cream colored sapwood with scattered chunky brown and gray ambrosia streaks
Back:  The 8-1/8" is similar to front, but has some planer miss in a corner . The 8-1/4" board has less streaks and some patches of planer miss

Red Maple (Acer rubrum)

All Ambrosia Maple, by its nature will have small pin holes. These small worm holes are created by the ambrosia beetle that tunnels through the wood that creates the unique beautiful brown and gray stripes. Thus, this maple is called by the name "Ambrosia Maple". Please note that the beetles die in the kiln process. This will not affect the final performance of the lumber in any negative way. It used for furniture and luthiers all the time.

Please note all wood is flat sawn, face jointed flattened, planed and edge jointed unless otherwise noted. 
Wood has been dried in a Nyle kiln to 6% to 8% moisture content.
