Roasted curly torrefied tiger maple.
Front:  Caramel roast with an erratic, untamed heavy tiger figure.  Two little 3/16" long checks that are from the logging operation.  They are in a line and are 24-1/2" from an end.  One is 1-3/4" from an edge and the other is towards the middle.
Back"  Planer miss in the corners.  This could be cut away and leave you with a perfect piece at 13"x37"

Curly Soft Tiger Maple Wood Lumber Board
Red Maple (Acer rubrum)

The roasting process pre-stresses the wood, caramelizes the sugars, sealing the pores and rendering them more resistant to moisture and movement. The caramelizing color pervades throughout the board thus enhancing the tiger figure.
Please note all wood is flat sawn, face jointed flattened, planed and edge jointed unless otherwise noted.
