Ash is listed as functionally extinct which means there are no longer enough ash trees to commercially harvest. The invasive emerald ash borer has completely decimated ash trees. What is left is all that remains of the last of the ash. All these trees were dead when they were cut. This is curly ash and is extremely rare even when ash was still being cut at the mills, Ash, let alone curly ash, will be harder and harder, to impossible, to find.
