When decaying logs are attacked by fungi, it can create a unique colors and patterns of spalt throughout wood. The wood is dried, preventing further decay. Spalted Maple may exhibit on or more of the following characteristics: pigmentation, white rot and black lines. These characteristics are in the very nature of spalted wood, and contribute to its natural beauty. Please note that Spalted Maple may contain rot, cracks, checks, voids, worm or bug holes, or bark inclusions.
Note: Boards were wetted to display colors and patterns for picture taking.

Please note all wood is flat sawn, face jointed flattened, planed and edge jointed unless otherwise noted. 
Wood has been dried in a Nyle kiln to 6% to 8% moisture content.
