Birdseye Maple Wood Lumber Board
Hard Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) 
Steam roasting is a process that involves injecting hot, wet steam into freshly sawn to change its color and make it more usable.
Steaming darkens the sapwood to a color closer to the heartwood, and can also make the heartwood a more uniform color.
The steaming process cooks and caramelizes the wood's sugars, which gives it a rich, chocolatey color. The water-soluble chemicals in the wood's sap are also pushed to the surface, discoloring the sapwood.

Please note all wood is flat sawn, face jointed flattened, planed and edge jointed unless otherwise noted. 
Wood has been dried in a Nyle kiln to 6% to 8% moisture content.
